Happy New Year

Well here we are, the beginning of a New Year....2014 has arrived!

I dont know about you all but for me 2013 seemed to fly by. It was a funny old year, lots of good times spent with family and friends, a lovely holiday in Portugal and another in fabulous Las Vegas. I discovered a new crafting passion called Project Life which I love, love, love and am happy to say I fully completed. I am currnetly (not) patiently waiting for an order from Sarahs Cards to be delivered so I can start it all over again for this year!! In Oct 13 my nephew George turned 18, I still really cant believe that the cute, cheeky little boy who used to come for sleepovers is now a grown man. I know I am a biased Auntie but he really has grown into a lovely, kind and totally gorgeous young man. Other highlights included us finally getting a new kitchen fitted, a meet up with our friends Gina and Ian from Warrington and a totally fab night out in London with the American/Yorkshire contingent.

The down side 2013 saw me saying goodbye to a dear work colleague who passed away very unexpectdly in May. Derrick 'Mac' Mckenzie was one of lifes genuine good guys who had time for everyone, his presence is still very much missed by all who knew him. December saw my our family receive the cruelest blow of all in my dear Uncle Bernie finally losing his battle with cancer. He bravely fought the disease, which for a while he even won however in the end it was too much for him and he passed away in the early hours of 15th December. Uncle Bernie was my only Uncle, he was my Dads younger brother. He was married to my Aunt for 50 years and he leaves behind two children and five grandchildren. We all miss him terribly and our future family get togethers will be a whole lot quieter without him.

Already we have a few things to look forward to this year, we have a surpise 60th birthday party in Jan and I have a 12 hour crop to attend (woo hoo - so looking forward to that). We also have a trip to Scotland in Feb, Portugal in July and hopefully Spain in October. I have two concerts to look forward to, Barry Manilow in May with Sharon and Sally and then Dolly Parton with my friend Karen in June.

I have decided not to make any resolutions this year as I never stick to them anyway. I just plan to take life as it comes and try to stress less about the little things.

I am sharing with you a couple of pics I took of the London fireworks on NYE. We are lucky enough to have a fairly good view from the top of our block - one of the perks of living in London!!

Happy New Year!!

Thanks for stopping by....love and hugs,

Jane

Lovely to catch up with what's been happening with you Jane. Sorry to read about your uncle and colleague. I've taken your advice and ordered some project life stash so hopefully I will be as efficient as you - I'm super impressed you have finished last year already! Take care x
