Afternoon all and thanks to everyone who had a nosey and left me a comment on my last post as part of the blog hop/tour.
Apart from keeping Project Life upto date I havent done any crafting at all in the last couple of weeks. However as we have had a day at home today and the weather hasnt really been suitable for sitting outside I decided to finish a mini book that I started a few months ago (which means DH didnt get it as a anniversary present last weekend!!). The book was a kit that I got from a shop called Scrappin Time while we were on holiday last year. Sadly I have heard that it has now closed its doors which is such a shame as it was a fantastic little shop with really friendly and helpful staff, it was also the very first scrapping shop I ever went to in the US. Anywway here are the pictures of the completed album....
We have been to Las Vegas 5 times now so this little book was just the right size...all of them
embellishments and papers came in the kit, I just added some numbers for the years and a little bit of journalling. I have just shown it to hubby and he likes it so that is an added bonus.
Last week my friend Cath came to visit and as is usual when she is here we have a little look at Create and Craft...usually nothing much catches our eye but this time we were both taken by a number of stamps but as I am pretty anti buying anything from them since the fiasco that was the Cricut Imagine that stopped working I decided to look elsewhere. The stamps I was most interested in are by Scruffy Little Cat and they are images of big eyelashed, big haired and big boobed girlies... as usual Ebay came up trumps and I found the exact stamp I wanted - Jessica, there are a couple more on my watch list too!! If anyone is interested in them here is the link to the Ebay seller I used. I stamped her up today using a Versafine ink pad and she came out beautifully, lovely sharp, crisp lines.
I then coloured her in using my Copic Ciao pens which I still love even after trying a few other brands. I do have a few Promarkers in my collection, but I much prefer the flexibility of the Copic brush nibs. I have used quite soft colours for this image but i think she would also look good i some brighter funkier colours...
All I need to do now is turn her into a birthday card..
Thanks for stopping by, love and hugs,
Jane

I just love love love your mini book. It's colourful and fun and really captures the excitement of Vegas.
That stamp is a cutie and I think your colouring is fab. I bought a couple of copics the other day but I just can't get on with them. So back to promarkers for me, but the woman in the shop did say it was good to mix and play
Wow that's a fabulous mini book, so much colour, does this mean that American scrapbook stores are struggling just as much as UK ones?
I love the stamp too - fab
Not for this shop Virginia, the owner moved to another State due to family reasons....such a shame that it's gone though as it was fab!!
Great book
I have almost the same book also with supplies from Scrapping Time made four years ago http://dollysdreamings.typepad.com/dollys_dreamings/2010/08/5210-prompt-31-and-its-vegas-baby-.html
Your book is fab Scrapdolly.....how funny that is is that we have both made pretty much the same book from the same shop in Vegas!! I shall miss paying them a visit on our next trip.
