September - A New Month & a New Season

Seriously how is it almost mid September already?? A new month and a new season are now well and truly upon us and those long hot Summer days seem like a lifetime ago. Autumn has arrived and is starting to deliver darker nights and damp chilly mornings. I am so not ready for this to happen yet, I truly am a Summer girl. The only time of year I am happy for it to be cold is Christmas, other than that I would be happy with warm sunny days all year round. I would much rather be sitting outside with a cold glass of a crisp Sauvignon Blanc than I would be curled up indoors with a hot chocolate! lol.

So here we go with a little update on what I have been upto over the last couple of weeks. I went for a much needed haircut, was only planning on a trim but my lovely hairdresser John gave me a colour on the house as he was running late and because I let someone go in front of me who was in a rush when I wasn't. Tom went to work on overtime so on Saturday I went to Debenhams on Oxford Street to get my brows waxed and tinted by Kim on the Benefit counter. Kim is amazing and she has totally transformed my shapeless hairy slugs into neat and tidy brows that I can be proud of. In the past I never really paid much attention to my brows, I really only every tweezed out the odd straggly and stray hairs. If anyone is thinking of starting a brow beauty regime I thoroughly recommend Benefit, plus if you download their Wow Brow app you get a stamp for every appointment which in turn leads to free treatments - what's not to love? Of course no trip to Debenhams would be complete without a browse of the beauty hall especially as they have a Kat Von D counter. I promised myself I wouldn't buy anything but I was weak and faltered and ended up coming home with a Shades of Light Plum eye palette and a Trooper Black tattoo liner. I do love the KVD range, the products are gorgeous and they really do last for ages.

Tom was working on Sunday too which meant another day home alone for me. I pottered about before heading over to Welling to see our friends Kate and Alex to celebrate their little girls 4th birthday. I only stayed for a couple of hours but it was lovely to catch up with some friends I hadn't seen in a while and also get some new baby cuddles with little Noah.

The weekend just gone saw us take a trip to Scotland to see some friends and to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary. We had a fab time but boy we are far too old for that drive now. It took us 9.5 hours to get from the hotel to my Mums to collect Daisy and then another 45 mins from there to home. We chose to drive up this time as we left it too late and the flight prices were ridiculous, plus as we were over in Prestwick the flight times just didn't work out for us. Anyway despite the journey from hell home it was a wonderful weekend, filled with so much fun and laughter with the friends that we call family.

Thanks for stopping by, please feel free to leave me a comment and a link back to your own blog if you have one.

Love  Jane xx

The year is flying by way too fast. Although I love the colours of Autumn I don't like the chill but I'm blowed if I'm turning the heating on just yet - extra layers and a blanket being crocheted seem to be working fine for the moment LOL.
